The first J. Jacobs truck hit the road in the Fall of 2009. Jeremy Knecht, with the support of his wife Kalsey, started the venture seeking to provide mowing, pruning, and landscape lighting services. To help get the business off of the ground, commercial accounts were purchased from a local landscape firm. A local building was rented for equipment, and the Knecht’s home was used as the J. Jacobs Office.
In the Spring of 2010, Lawn Care Treatments, were added to the list of services. This helped establish new customers and relationships which developed into new work and opportunities. Several residential customers were added to the list of accounts and Jeremy hired some help.
